Liam Gallagher has voiced a series of Metrolink announcements to be played to passengers on board trams across the network.
But transport bosses have announced commuters will have to listen out to discover which line is the Roll With It singer’s favourite.
A sneak peak of one of his announcements, however, may offer a subtle clue. “The next stop is the Etihad Campus – the home of the champions of England and the champions of Europe. Come on City,” says Liam in an excerpt released by Transport for Greater Manchester.
Gallagher joins a long list of celebrities and stars from the world of music and sport to have recorded guest announcements for Metrolink trams, including Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah and Madchester favourite Shaun Ryder, lead singer of the Happy Mondays.
The Manchester music legend is taking over tram announcements in celebration of the Bee Network, Greater Manchester’s integrated public transport system, and Beyond the Music festival.
Beyond the Music is a new music festival taking place across Manchester from October 11 to 14.
