Oasis’ long-awaited Live ’25 reunion tour has so far delivered a string of monumental shows – but there’s one thing fans keep noticing: every single concert has featured the exact same 23-song setlist, built almost entirely around Liam and Noel Gallagher’s iconic ’90s catalogue.
Despite expectations of some surprises along the way – and the absence of favourites like ‘Lyla’, ‘Columbia’, ‘The Importance Of Being Idle’ and ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ – the band have stuck to a fixed show. Rumours of a switch-up even grew stronger ahead of the current North American leg, after ‘Lyla’ was used in a promo video for the Toronto gig. But when Oasis hit the stage at the Rogers Stadium on August 24, the setlist remained unchanged.
So, why is that? According to Noel Gallagher’s close friend Matt Morgan, who discussed the topic on his podcast, Noel simply prefers the consistency:
“It’s mad that they’re doing the same set,” Morgan said (via the Mirror). “I thought they would vary it slightly. I said to Noel, ‘Don’t you just want to mix it up?’ He said, ‘No, I like it like that’. He knows where he is. They bang it out.”
Morgan added that Noel has looked “very happy” during the shows, recalling a post-Wembley chat where the guitarist seemed “well happy with it all”. He explained:
“At various points I spoke to him in the last year about it, and he sort of moved his opinion of what [the set was] gonna be and what it is. I think it’s done so well and felt so good. He seems very happy with it. And he looks happy on stage, actually. He’s not plodding through it.”
For Noel, the return to the stage has been overwhelming. Speaking in a recent interview, he admitted he had “grossly underestimated” the emotional impact of reuniting with Oasis:
“After about five minutes [onstage in Cardiff], I was like, alright, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again? My legs turned to jelly after about halfway through the second song. But it’s great being back in a band with Liam – I’d forgotten how funny he was.”
