Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, founding guitarist of Oasis, has announced that he will step away from parts of the Oasis Live ’25 tour to undergo treatment for prostate cancer.
In a statement shared on social media, Arthurs revealed that he was diagnosed earlier this year, but had been able to join the tour initially because he was responding well to treatment.
“Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney. I’m really sad to be missing these shows but I’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America.”
The guitarist clarified that the break is temporary, and he intends to rejoin Oasis for the South American leg of the tour, which begins in November.
Oasis expressed support for Arthurs via their official account, posting: “Wishing you all the best with your treatment Bonehead — we’ll see you back on stage in South America.”
Fans and fellow musicians have responded with messages of support, wishing him strength and a speedy recovery.
