Oasis have dropped another cryptic teaser — and this time the clues point unmistakably to Paris.
The video takes us inside a typically Parisian fruit and grocery shop, with French signs and a mysterious figure walking past the storefront. But one detail immediately stands out: the character picks up a plum, eats it, and then throws it away.
For Oasis fans, that can hardly be a coincidence.
Paris is where the first chapter of Oasis came to an abrupt end on 28 August 2009, when a backstage confrontation between Liam and Noel Gallagher took place shortly before the band were due to headline the Rock en Seine festival.
The infamous plum story comes from Noel himself. In interviews following the split, Noel recalled that Liam stormed out of the dressing room during the argument, picked up a plum and threw it across the room, where it smashed against the wall. Noel then described Liam returning with a guitar and swinging it “like an axe”, nearly hitting him in the face.
That confrontation was followed by Noel’s decision to leave Oasis. The band’s Rock en Seine performance was cancelled, and later that night Noel announced that he had quit the band.
So, almost exactly 17 years later, Oasis are back in Paris — and the plum is back too.
Whether this is simply another clue or a deliberate reference to the band’s most infamous night, the message seems pretty clear.
