There is now something considerably more concrete behind the latest Knebworth speculation.
SJM Concerts, the promoter behind Oasis’ UK shows during the Oasis Live ’25 tour, has secured an event licence from North Hertfordshire Council allowing events at Knebworth for audiences of up to 125,000 people.
The licence is effective immediately and permits live music and dance events at the Hertfordshire site, with performances able to run into the early hours.
On its own, the licence does not confirm that Oasis will play Knebworth. No dates have been announced by the band or their representatives, and there is currently no official Oasis announcement attached to the application.
But the timing is difficult to ignore.
Knebworth has been at the centre of speculation surrounding Oasis’ next move ever since their reunion tour ended. The latest development is different from the rumours and betting speculation that have circulated over recent months: this time, there is an actual piece of event infrastructure in place.
That distinction matters.
A promoter obtaining permission to stage events for up to 125,000 people does not necessarily mean Oasis are booked. However, it establishes that the venue is legally prepared to accommodate an event on a scale consistent with the kind of show that has been discussed.
For now, therefore, the situation is best described simply: Knebworth has a licence. Oasis have not yet announced Knebworth.
Everything beyond that remains speculation.
Still, after months of rumours, this is one of the more tangible developments to emerge — and one that puts the possibility of another major event at Knebworth firmly back on the radar.
