From 10 September, Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger will be screened at Olympic Barnes, in Screen One — the very room once known as Studio One, where Oasis recorded some of their music around 25 years ago.
For Oasis fans, the connection goes much deeper than simply the location.
Oasis and Olympic Studios
Oasis have a special history with Olympic Studios. The band spent time at the studios working on music for Standing on the Shoulder of Giants and Heathen Chemistry, including parts of “Stop Crying Your Heart Out”. They also spent time at Olympic Studios with Johnny Marr.
Now, more than two decades later, fans can return to the same building to experience the Oasis story on the big screen.
Jill Furmanovsky’s Oasis exhibition
Making the occasion even more special, from 9 September Olympic Studios will also host an exhibition of Jill Furmanovsky’s Oasis photographs, curated by Rockarchive.
Running for six weeks throughout the building, the exhibition brings together some of Jill’s celebrated Oasis photographs alongside previously unseen work from her archive.
Jill has documented Oasis throughout some of the most important years of their career, making Olympic Studios a particularly fitting setting for this collection.
The exhibition is free to view. Visitors can see the photographs before or after the film, or simply pop into the building independently without a cinema ticket.
Fans can also enjoy Olympic Studios’ Bar & Bistro before or after a screening, including a special Cinema Express menu.

There is something particularly fitting about watching Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger in the same room where the band once worked on their music, surrounded by Jill Furmanovsky’s photographs from that era.
